Fitting information
I usually work 5 to 6 weeks in advance of your wedding day to ensure we have enough time to do the required alterations. The system in which we work means you come for your first fitting with your shoes, underwear, wedding dress and any accessories and extra fabric you may have ordered to go with your dress. We will pin the correct length and adjustments and book your second fitting, which is normally two weeks later. Your second fitting is to check the adjustments that have been made and a further tweak may be needed to ensure the perfect fit. Once you have had your second fitting we book you in to collect the week after, a three week process in total.
Dresses can be collected nearer the time but there is a storage charge of £10.00 per week.
Underwear recommended for bridal dresses is the natural coloured, seam free range. I do have bra cups in stock, however bra cups are for shaping only, they do not offer support. If you do not have the correct shoes to bring for your fitting please give me a call or email and we will rearrange, I cannot do a fitting without these as they are essential to getting the correct length so would hate you to have a wasted journey. I would also recommend that you go for comfort and are able to wear the shoes all day and evening. The dress will look too long in your photos if you swap from high heels to flats, making it pointless having your hem altered. so spend the time searching for style and comfort before you come for a fitting!
Your fitting will be at my Studio located in Holt, Wiltshire, which has a private changing room and a seating area for a couple of guests... Due to the current Coronavirus situation I am limiting fittings to one guest and PPE must be worn until the government guidelines say different. I allow an hour for your first fitting and second fittings are usually half an hour. Payments are all done via bank transfer and due at your second fitting. All information is invoiced to you at your first fitting. We are a smoke free home and for every bride's benefit I do have a strict no shoes policy in my workroom so please wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off. I'm sure you will agree mud and dirt from shoes don't mix with expensive wedding dresses!
