wedding dress alterations in wiltshire

I love everything about sewing from designing and fitting to customising and repairing. For me, it’s all about the details. When you look amazing, you feel amazing, and that’s why I finish every dress to the highest standard, ensuring it fits you perfectly.

I'm a specialist in wedding dress alterations and always go the extra mile to deliver exceptional service. I understand how busy life can get, so I offer evening and weekend appointments to suit your schedule.

In addition to alterations, I also offer a professional 'Propress' steaming service for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and Mother of the Bride outfits, perfect for making sure every garment looks flawless on the big day.

The Fitting Process

I usually work 8 to 10 weeks ahead of your wedding day to ensure there’s plenty of time to complete all necessary alterations. The process typically takes around 3 to 4 weeks, including 2 to 3 fittings. If you have a tight timeframe, its still definitely worth an ask though!

What to Bring to Your First Fitting

At your first fitting, please bring:

  • Your wedding dress

  • Shoes you’ll wear on the day

  • Underwear (natural-coloured and seam-free is recommended)

  • Any accessories or extra fabric that came with your dress

We’ll pin the correct length and make any necessary adjustments. Your second fitting is usually scheduled for two weeks later.

Second Fitting & Collection

At your second fitting, we’ll check the alterations and make any final tweaks to ensure the perfect fit. You’ll then be booked in to collect your dress one week later. If you'd like to collect your dress closer to the wedding, that's absolutely fine.

Important Fitting Info

  • Shoes are essential for your fitting. If you don't have your wedding shoes yet, please get in touch to reschedule. The correct length cannot be pinned without them, and I’d hate for you to have a wasted trip.

  • If you're planning to change shoes during the day, please keep in mind: switching from heels to flats will make your dress look too long in photos. It’s best to choose shoes that are comfortable enough to wear all day.

  • I do have bra cups in stock, but please note these are for shaping only—they do not provide support.

Studio Details

Fittings take place at my private studio in Holt, Wiltshire, which includes:

  • A private changing area

  • A comfortable seating area for guests

I allow:

  • 1 hour for your first fitting

  • 30 minutes for your second fitting

I currently allow two guests per bride during fittings. Please be aware we are a smoke-free home and there is a strict no shoes policy in the workroom to protect dresses from mud and dirt, so please wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off.

All payments are made via bank transfer, due at your second fitting. You’ll receive your invoice during your first visit.
