Hi, I’m Verity – the heart and hands behind Verity Turner Sewing Studio.
I’ve loved sewing for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are with my grandma and her beautiful old Singer treadle machine. I’d spend hours beside her, stitching and mending, learning the magic of creating something with love and care. We’d hunt through charity shops for hidden gems—items I’d take apart and reimagine into something new and unique.
At just 9 years old, my mum and dad bought me my very first sewing machine. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to sew. I didn’t always know I’d work in bridal, but I knew I had to follow a creative path.
During my placement year at university, I was lucky enough to be offered two dream opportunities: one with DSI in London, making dazzling ballroom dance gowns, and the other in a little bridal boutique in Bradford-on-Avon. Around that same time, I had just met my husband, and—being a true romantic at heart—I decided to stay in the area I grew up in and continue our love story. That’s when my journey into bridal really began.
About a year later, the lovely team at the boutique asked if I’d ever thought about starting my own business. That one question sparked a dream. With the support, guidance, and encouragement of some truly amazing friends and mentors, I found the confidence to take the leap—and I’ve never looked back.
Today, Verity Turner Sewing Studio is the result of years of passion, dedication, and the belief that every bride deserves to feel completely herself—and utterly amazing—on her wedding day. Whether it’s a small tweak, a dramatic transformation, or a completely bespoke creation, I’m here to help you fall in love with your dress and walk down the aisle feeling 110% confident
